10 things you should pack for a long haul flight

Hello everyone! Recently many of you have been asking me how do I deal with constant travelling and long haul flights. I thought I’ll put a little packing guide with all you the things you should have in your cabin bag for a long haul flight. As a full-time travel blogger I am on the go all year long and I feel like I finally have my own little routine. Some of the things may be obvious however I believe these tips can be very useful to the new travellers and people who never flew long haul before.

1. Comfortable outfit

I swear there’s nothing worse than flying in something that makes you feel uncomfortable. Forget about wearing jeans or tight tops. I normally wear comfortable underwear and sports bra ( this year I discovered Sloggi Zero Feel Bra and honestly you don’t feel like you’re wearing anything! Brilliant for long flights!) long, baggy sweatpants, t-shirt, big cosy hoodie and trainers. As I normally get quite cold on long haul flights I also make sure I have an extra jumper and a blanket in my cabin bag. I also pack a little light outfit – usually a dress and sandals to change when I am flying to a tropical destination.

2. Wet wipes

Literally the first thing I think of when packing for all flights in general. It’s not only to keep yourself refreshed at all times. You need them to wipe the screen, side of the sit and dining table before you take off. Imagine how many people sat there and touched everything before you.

3. Eye mask

Something I honestly can’t imagine travelling without. This is the only way I am able to fall asleep on a long flight- otherwise all the lights can be very disturbing- for example when passenger next to you is watching the movie or reading a book or when in your time zone is a night time while on the plane it can be a day light already. I highly recommend having eye mask in the cabin bag. Many airlines also give you an eye mask together with headphones, ear plugs and a blanket but I feel like it’s always better to have your own just in case.

4. Ear plugs

I swear there’s nothing worse than travelling without ear plugs and sitting next to someone who either speaks very loud or snore during the long haul flight. It’s actually a nightmare that I have experienced many times in the past that’s why now as experienced traveller I always have ear plugs in my hand luggage.

5. Good moisturiser

Very important thing as the skin gets super dry on the long haul flights. I always have a good moisturiser on me. I am especially loving Vichy Minéral 89 which is a perfect in-flight hydration. It’s highly recommended by flight attendants.Vichy Minéral 89 hydrates the skin for up to 24 hours after application and prevents pollution particles from sticking to the skin. It’s light and non-sticky and leaves the skin’s texture improved and feeling healthier and smoother. I also travel with a sheet mask. It’s a quick way to give your skin a little boost. It’s easy to apply and remove and you don’t really need to move from your sit.

6. Dry shampoo

You already know that I am a big fan of Batiste Dry Shampoos. They are life saving on a long haul flights and keep my hair refreshed at all times.

7. Snacks

Another thing I’ve learnt over the years. I had quite a few long haul flights where I was feeling hungrt. Of course you do get food and you can always ask cabin crew for something extra but I must admit I don’t love plane food so I like having something that I enjoy on me in case I get hungry. I would normally have some fruits, chocolate bar and nuts.

8. Hand sanitaser

I know this one is pretty obvious but I still decide to mention it as it’s super needed on all flights in general.

9. Reusable water bottle

You always stay hydrated and you help to reduce the waste from single-use plastic bottles

10. Travel pillow

nothing worse than travelling with no pillow- I swear! It happened to me few times that I have forgotten to pack mine and it was literally a distaster. From now on I always have a comfortable travel pillow with me.

Now you’re already to go! Follow that travel dream!

These jewellery pieces will make your outfit- Muru Jewellery

Those of you who follow me for some time already know how much I love jewellery, however in the summer it plays more important role than ever as what I am wearing most of the time are bikinis and kimonos, haha. This year I discovered a beautiful London based jewellery brand – Muru. The brand was born out of love of travel and creating memories so I felt like it matches my style perfectly. I absolutely love their gorgeous talismans and they’ve been accompanying my outfits all summer. Each piece have a meaning and it’s designed to promote positivity and wellbeing in different aspects of life.

I personally went for a Protection Gold Durga Coin talisman that illustrates Durga- the cherished Hindu goodness. She is a symbol of protection. She is often pictured with many arms and riding a lion and teaches us to protect those we care about.

I also chose my Zodiac Necklace- Taurus from their “My Constellation” collection. I think this necklace could be a lovely and thoughtful gift.

Last piece- the newest in my Muru collection is Gold Affinity Necklace from my blogger friend’s – Belle & Bunty collection. This necklace celebrates sisterhood and the importance of these supportive relationships in our lives.

I love wearing these necklace either separately or layered up. Either way they look beautiful and elegant and compliment every outfit. You can choose different length of the chain to customise your look and wear them your own unique way. Each necklace comes with a luxury gift packaging and a beautiful lilac ribbon – to me a perfect little feminine touch.

Whether you’re looking for something for yourself or for a gift, make sure to check our Muru’s Jewellery beautiful pieces.

Una Vida Tulum- a tropical oasis

Recently I had a pleasure to stay somewhere absolutely beautiful. Ok, let me be honest- I have been planning to stay at Una Vida Tulum already last year, however due to another project, I didn’t make it to Tulum. I have been patiently waiting and yet the most incredible thing happened this month- I got to celebrate my birthday in this dreamy hotel! I still can’t believe it!

Why Una Vida Tulum? Well, you already know me- I fall in love with people and places at first sight and this is exactly what happened this time as well. ! I have found this place on Social Media last year and thought “wow”. I am a huge fan of bohemian decor and this small, boutique hotel had it all. I could feel its vibe already by just looking at the photos. It was absolutely stunning and away from Tulum’s crowds and noise. For some people this could be a little problem as the hotel is located a little bit away from the main Tulum area that you see all over Instagram. Well, personally I didn’t mind that at all. I loved that the hotel was located in the middle of jungle, away from the city’s life. It was a real, secret boho oasis. A paradise for unique design and art lovers.

Let me show you around. Let’s start with a beautiful reception area- they looked after absolutely every little detail. The decor got me absolutely crazy! Everything was so me! Loved the boho, hippie and coastal vibes. This area already gave me all the feels. I felt so inspired and close to the nature. I also really liked the space to rent the bikes- bikes are free of charge which is great as it makes it super easy to get to the main attractions that Tulum has to offer. If you are planning to rent a car there’s also a parking space just in front of the hotel. Centre of Tulum is only few minutes drive.

Reception area

After the check-in we were escorted to our one bedroom boutique villa. We’ve passed a beautiful pool area that felt so just so peaceful. I honestly can’t find a better word for this place than “tropical oasis”.

Accomodation

Let’s talk about villa! First think I spotted was a huge, comfortable bed and beautiful dream catchers on the wall- you know how much I love them! The decor was really rustic and simple but this is exactly what I love. We’ve had a large private bathroom, terrace overlooking the jungle and a beautiful living room with a kitchenette. Personally I think this one bedroom villa would be a perfect option for families travelling with kids.

We absolutely loved our stay here! We also had the chance to have a look at their Villa Jacinta- 3 Bedroom House that can fit up to 8 people. This villa was absolutely magical too! The decor was pretty much the same but the space was huge and also had its own private pool and outdoor bathroom- what a dream!

Dining

During our stay at Una Vida Tulum we had a pleasure to try some delicious Mexican dishes prepared by a private chef. I was impressed not only with flavours but also with a presentation of the dishes. You could see the chef put his heart into it! I highly recommend trying Huevos a la Mexicana- Mexican eggs, Huevos Verdes- Green eggs and their delicious fruit bowls. That was our favourite brunch! PS. If you’re wondering inside of that fun pumpkin-shape dish- this is how they serve warm, homemade tortilla- so good!

Una Vida by night

One more thing I’d like to mention is how magical was this hotel by night. I remember coming back from the dinner to the most magical view. I tried to capture it but it wasn’t easy, haha. Honestly, this place gave me all the feels. I felt at peace while staying there. It was a perfect place to do yoga, meditate and eat delicious and healthy food. It somehow reminded me of the yoga retreat I done back in January in Koh Samui, Thailand. Look how gorgeous was this place with a candle light!

To sum up, I would 100% recommend choosing Una Vida Tulum as your Tulum’s home. I am calling it home as this is how it felt to me from the moment I stepped in. The room rates in low season start from as low as 60$ per night which makes it not only affordable but also a boutique and chic accomodation option. What I would recommend is packing a mosquito spray- yes there are some insects in the evening, but it’s natural as the hotel is located in the middle of the jungle. I personally loved being so close to the nature and to myself. Thank you so much for a wonderful and memorable stay. I have a feeling, we’ll see you again soon!

My fashion Wishlist for SS19

Hi everyone!

As my favourite time of the year is finally here (happy first day of spring by the way!) I am officially allowed to start planning my summer wardrobe! I am so excited seeing so many incredible things in the stores! My favourite boho & safari trends are everywhere so I am literally in heaven! I put up a little list of the items I MUST have this season. I thought you may want to have a look too! If you’d like to purchase anything just simply click in the pic. I’ve linked all the items for you!

New swimsuits

Ok let’s start with the fact I have hundreds of swimsuits, but I can’t ever ever get enough! It’s just my favourite thing to wear! I could literally live in bikinis, haha! This season I am especially loving belted and ring swimsuits. I am obsessed with all the neutral colours- beige, nude, white. I think they would look perfect with a sun-kissed skin!

Hair slides

Hair slides is something that the world got absolutely crazy about these days! So did I, haha! I have already shopped some at Accessorize, Topshop and Primark but I can’t get enough. I still would love some extra ones with pearls or seashells!

Seashell jewellery

Those of you who follow me for long time, already know I have been wearing seashell jewellery for years. I used to shop it at my fav tropical destinations like Maldives, Seychelles, Zanzibar. But this year its going to be a big BOOM! I see seashells literally everywhere right now and I feel like its never enough of beautiful seashells in my life! I do have couple of bracelets and necklaces already but actually never got a ring or hair slides so this is something I am currently hunting for!

Boho basket bag

Another favourite trend of mine- boho baskets bag! Another thing I always shop when I travel but that’s another love and obsession of mine! I love basket bags! They just change the entire outfit! Love wearing them with summer dresses and jumpsuits. I have a huge collection of them already but I am always ready for more! ( even if my closet isn’t haha!)

Boho home accessories

I wouldn’t be myself if I skipped my homie when planning the summer shopping! I still have few corners at our apartment that I would love to decorate or organise better. I am always looking for additional rattan and bamboo baskets ( can’t help it!) plants, hammocks and macrame accessories (would love to get this pouffe!). I still didn’t get myself and egg chair that I’ve been always dreaming of so that has to change soon!

What are you planning to shop this season?

My fashion wishlist for winter

Hi everyone!

As winter is slowly approaching ( and I am actually very excited even though you know already how much I love all the tropical places) I have started to crave a little winter shopping to get myself ready for the season. There’s top 5 things on my list at the moment that I absolutely must get!

1.Teddy coat

Long, warm and cosy. I own one already from Miss Selfridges and I am loving it but I feel like I need another one slightly longer for the colder days. Here’s what I am currently looking at! Can’t decide between getting a brown one or a nude/ cream colour. What would you go for?

2.  Cosy turtleneck sweater

Probably my most favourite thing to wear in the winter. With a cosy, warm scarf, tights and high-waisted shorts,  jeans and over-the-knee boots. So warm, comfortable, easy to wear really and with the right accessories they can be very elegant too! I am hunting for the cream, nude or grey one. Here’s some of my favs

3. Wide-brim hat

As you know already- I adore hats ( I even have one in my logo!)  I own so many beautiful summer, straw hats in all kind of shapes and colours- I bring one from every tropical place I go to. However I’ve never had a winter style hat and this is what I am really dreaming of right now! I have been crazy obsessed with the one from Lack of Color but I also found few other options and honestly it’s so hard to choose and I just want them all, ha!

4. Over the knee boots

As you have probably seen on my Instagram – I love wearing over the knee boots. I own 2 pairs at the moment but every year I go for affordable ones, which normally last maximum a season or two. This year I am considering to invest in a pair of Stuart Weitzman. I am between classic black or the grey ones.

5.  Cosy scarf

Something I never go out without in the winter. I have recently treated myself to my dream logo mania Pearl Grey scarf from LV  that I have been dreaming of for ages ( you can see it on the image at the top) but I am also thinking of getting one more scarf this season. I am loving Acne Studio ones! I am thinking to get one in either nude, beige or grey colour.
